MATLAB: Does MATLAB fail to launch after installing FEMLAB

MATLAB

When attempting to launch MATLAB, it launches and quickly exits.

Best Answer

The cause of this is a file named classpath.txt that is created by FEMLAB and placed into the users home or MATLAB preferences directory. Removing or renaming this file seems to resolve the issue, although the cause is not known as we do not support this product. It is likely that it adds classpath entries in this file which MATLAB is unable to load, causing the crash.
NOTE: DO NOT modify the classpath.txt file that is located in the MATLAB/toolbox/local directory as this is required by MATLAB.
