MATLAB: How to troubleshoot crashes in Matlab 2014 in Mac OSX Yosemite

I'm using a game code for data collection in an experiment. On my desktop (Windows), the game runs fine but when I try to run the code on my Mac Matlab crashes every time. The game enters into fullscreen mode, so I can't see any error from Matlab itself, and I can't get the screen to exit fullscreen. Anyone have tips on how I can troubleshoot this?

First of all, R2014a was not yet supported for Yosemite, while R2014b was. Can you clarify, as you summary line just says "2014".
Then, there might be crash dumps. I am not familiar with Macs, but on Windows, MATLAB stores crash dumps in a temporary folder. In case you can find one of those, searching MATLAB Answers or contactin support should be good next steps.
