MATLAB: How to retrieve the property editor in MATLAB 7.8 (R2009a)

I am new to MATLAB and trying to use the property editor to modify my plots. I must have done something to undock the property editor, and now it has disappeared. I would like to get the property editor back.

In MATLAB 7.8 (R2009a) there are no "hooks" to return the property editor to the center of the screen. You will need to find the property editor window and bring it back to the desired location. Docking the entire figure and then undocking the figure may help bring the editor back on screen so that you can re-dock it to the figure.
