The Virtual Reality Toolbox works with VR scenes only in VRML97 format.

A request to support IGES formats has been forwarded to our development staff to be considered for a future release of the Virtual Reality Toolbox. Currently, there are no plans for additional formats.

The issue of the Virtual Reality viewer showing only a blank background is usually caused by a display driver issue in the way that your graphics driver interacts with OpenGL.

To work around this issue, try the following:

1. Contact the vendor of your graphics card for an updated graphics driver, which supports OpenGL.

2. If the above step fails to fix the problem in Windows, go to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshooting, and decrease the acceleration slider. The best method of solving this is to start with acceleration completely off. If it works, then you can try to increase acceleration step-by-step until the point where it no longer works.

NOTE: MATLAB needs to be restarted every time the acceleration level is changed.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2006a (R2006a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

The functionality of printing a virtual reality scene from the internal viewer is accomplished by issuing the CAPTURE function at the MATLAB prompt. For a discussion of the appropriate syntax, please refer to the documentation accessed by typing the following at the MATLAB prompt:

doc vrfigurecapture

The output of this command is a TrueColor RGB image that can be:

1) displayed and printed from a regular MATLAB figure window using the IMAGE function, and

2) saved as an image file by using the IMWRITE function. This image can then be inserted or pasted into any other application (such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint)

For more information about these functions, type the following commands at the MATLAB prompt:
