The issue of the Virtual Reality viewer showing only a blank background is usually caused by a display driver issue in the way that your graphics driver interacts with OpenGL.

This is a video driver bug.

To work around this issue, lower the OpenGL Accelerator level

(under Display Properties->Settings->Advanced->Troubleshoot)
