MATLAB: Can I run the MATLAB Parallel Server (R14SP1+) workers on a heterogeneous cluster

My cluster of computers includes different kinds of machines. Can the distributed computing products run on this cluster?

The Parallel Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Parallel Server are supported on Windows, UNIX, and Macintosh platforms. Mixed platforms are supported, so that the client, job manager, and worker sessions do not have to be on the same platform.
In a mixed platform environment, be sure to follow the proper installation instructions for the local machine on which you are installing and running the software.

NOTE: Starting in R2019a the following name changes occurred:
  • MATLAB Distributed Computing Server was renamed to MATLAB Parallel Server
