fontssymbols
I am reading H. Sati and U. Schreiber's article "Proper Orbifold Cohomology" — see https://arxiv.org/pdf/2008.01101. On page 2, there is a formula almost at the bottom of the page, with a leaning U after the integral (Borel space). Does anyone know what font this leaning symbol is written with? Or how to produce one in LaTeX?

You should separate input and output. If you want to print a symbol you at first need a font which contains it. If you want to use normal latex (it will work with xelatex too) you can e.g. use the dingbat font to get an anchor. If you want to use the symbol in the input you must declare it (I'm not sure if the ⚓ copy& paste correctly):

With xetex you can use e.g. dejavu sans (if you get the wrong glyph:make sure that you have only version of dejavu sans). Here too you can use commands/other notation if you don't want to use the symbol in the input:

To provide PDF files containing the dot and the at in the right font, put this in at.tex

Edit: This solution was actually wrong as I first wrote it. I assumed you can just use the generated PDFs as a neutral vector graphic. You can't; the mail addresses are still easily copy-and-pasted. You can, however, use some software like inkscape to convert the text to a "real" vector graphic and save it as a PDF again. You can then proceed as before. [End of Edit]
