The scrbook class calculates margins automatically. For the title page of a book, I would like no margins at all, so that the text would be centered properly.
How can I disable all margins for the title page, and then reactivate them for the inside of the book?
Using the geometry package it is possible to switch your layout mid-document using the \newgeometry{<settings>} macro. We first set up the initial layout of the title page (1in on all four sides) when the package is loaded
\usepackage[showframe,paper=a4paper,margin=1in]{geometry}% http://ctan.org/pkg/geometry
and then change this after the title page using
\newgeometry{top=1in,bottom=1in,right=0.5in,left=1.5in}

lipsum provides dummy text, while the showframe option to geometry merely frames the page to highlight the layout of the text block and other areas.
You can use \newgeometry, \restoregeometry from the geometry package; a little example:

\usepackage[margin=1in,showframe]{geometry}

\newgeometry{margin=1.5in}
\lipsum[1-5]% your title information here
\restoregeometry

The answer above assumed that the titling infomation should appear on a page of its own; after the edit to the original question it is clear that this is not the case; the titling information is produced using \maketitle and the document text should begin immediately afterwards.
In this case, the adjustwidth environment from the changepage package can be used; a patching of \@maketitle does the job:

The showframe option was used only to have a visual guideline.

The geometry package offers you the
\newgeometryand\restoregeometrycommands to change page dimensions for some part of the document.I would suggest, however, a different approach: design the title page as a different standalone document, with the desired page dimensions, and then use the pdfpages package to include this title page in your book.
