Maybe it's a silly thing, but in order to change line spacing to Double I have to "navigate" to Document>>Settings>>Text layout. If I click on the icon Paragraph Settings from the Lyx toolbar and change it to Double, it doesn't work, as it keeps the current setting (Single). I don't think it's a bug, but it seems weird. Why doesn't the shortcut work?

This is a MikTeX issue, as confirmed by Enrico Forestieri:
For some reason, miktex does not understand/obey the command lyx inserts into the preamble when you check the "Enable Forward/Reverse Search" button in the toolbar and does not generate the necessary info.
The generation of the required info can be forced by changing the converter "LaTeX (pdflatex) -> PDF (pdflatex)" in Preferences->File handling->Converters from the default "pdflatex $$i" to "pdflatex -synctex=1 $$i" (i.e., by adding the -synctex=1 switch). After that it should work (supposing that you performed the necessary configuration as explained in the above link).

The Align property designates the default justification under the Standard style. In the above case, the default is Block. Available alignments are given under AlignPossible

Change Align to Left and insert it as a Local Layout under Document > Settings... to obtain a \raggedright output:
Of course, it would also be possible to define your own, new paragraph style.
An easy LaTeX-type way of achieving this is by issuing \raggedright in your Document > Settings... > LaTeX Preamble.

In LyX 2.0 at least, the setting in Document --> Settings is a global switch, so it applies for the whole document, while the button on the toolbar is local, applying only for the current paragraph. Hence, they serve different purposes, if you wish to set the same style for the entire document, use the former.
