[Tex/LaTex] Lyx Paragraph Settings not working

I keep unchecking the indentation box in the lyx paragraph settings, but after I apply the change, and go back to my work, it never seems to work. I will then write a new line, and press enter and it automatically indents the next line.

When this happens, I go back to the paragraph settings only to see the indentation box is checked.

This happens for all of the paragraphs settings, not just the indentation. For instance, I also tried to change the justification and the line spacing, but it never seems to work when I apply the changes.

Is there a way to fix this bug, or should I just uninstall lyx and try to download it again?

When you right click in a paragraph and choose paragraph settings, those settings apply only to that paragraph. To make global changes, go to Document --> Settings --> Text layout.

I wasn't able to use the settings provided by mdframed. So I just defined a new enviroment. I think for changing it in mdframed you would need to patch package internals. Anyway this Solution has no problem with additional spaces.

You wouldn't have any problem with the space in your example if you would do:

\begin{singleframed}
\setlength{\parindent}{\defparindent}%
qwerty

qwerty
\end{singleframed}

The new line after setlength is the cause for the additional space. By using the comment tag you don't have any problems.

[Tex/LaTex] Keep Format Settings in Lyx

This is extending @Martin H's suggestion:

Take the CV_old.lyx file you have
Edit it in a way that it becomes a kind of a template (keep the formats you like, the text you want to use as standard / start.....)
In Document | Settings click on Save as Document Defaults
Now save this template as (for example:) CV.lyx
As root, move the file to /usr/share/lyx/templates or wherever your lyx templates are sitting

From here, you should have a template with exactly the settings you like for each CV you write.
