lyxsections-paragraphsspacing
I'm new to LaTeX & LyX. I find that in LyX, when I have a "subsubsection" then "standard" block of text, it looks like
where the immediate line after the subsubsection is aligned with the header while following paragraphs are not. Why is that? How do I align them?
That's the standard behaviour for subparagraphs: the text will start in the same line as the title, and the title will be indented by \parindent. If you want to change the formatting, you can redefine \subparagraph; here's a little example of a possible redefinition:

Now, the title will be italicized and won't be indented; the text will start on a new line.
I, however, don't know how to implement this in LyX.
To number subsubsections and paragraphs, set the secnumdepth counter to 4 (the paragraph level); to get them into the ToC, change the tocdepth counter also to 4; to change the formatting for the paragraph headings, you can use the titlesec package; a little example:

If, for some reason, using titlesec is not an option, you can redefine \paragraph; here's a little example of this approach:
