When I install MiKTeX on a computer, I always choose the option of installing all packages. Of course, as time goes by, new packages appear on CTAN. Is there any way of telling MiKTeX to install all missing packages? It seems to be a logical request coming from someone who chose to install all packages.

There is another possibility.
- Download the whole contents of the directory mirrors.ctan.org/systems/win32/miktex/tm/packages/ in a local directory.
- Link the package repository in the MiKTeX Package Manager to this folder, through the command "Change Package Repository" in the "Repository" menu.
In this way you can keep a "light" distribution and install packages when needed without an internet connection.
P.S.
The first step can be done with the MiKTeX Installer, but I'd rather use a "download manager" to speed up the download... Anyway, if you already have the "complete" version installed, you should have these files somewhere in your PC.
Check if a) your MPM is allowed to connect to the internet (see your firewall/antivirus settings);
or
b) Are you connecting under a proxy? If so, you must setup the proxy through the menu Repository > Change Package Repository > select "Packages shall be installed from the internet" > Connection settings > (enter your proxy settings in the dialog box)

No. I regularly update the package database in the console and then sort by the installed column and install the missing ones. You could make a feature request - imho an "autoinstall" option would be nice.
