[Tex/LaTex] How to change color settings in TeXStudio

I realize this may be a stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere. Where is the .texsprofile file for TeXStudio? If it doesn't exist by default, where should I place it when I create it? I'm trying to use one of the themes in this article, but I can't figure out how to make it work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

This is only for windows.

You have to place .texsprofile in C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Roaming\texstudiowhere <your name> is to be read as it is in your computer. Then in TeXstudio go to Options → Load Profile

Select the profile, click Open and restart TeXstudio.

Texmaker comes with a build in PDF previewer that supports synctex. If I remember correctly, it is "embedded" by default. That is, editor and previewer is a part of the same bigger window. This might not be useful if the screen is small, say on a small laptop. Editor and previewer can be separated into two separate Windows via the Texmaker configuration (just remove the tick mark at "embedded" and restart Texmaker)

Texmakers cousin Texstudio made this even easier: there the separation is a button on the previewer.

It's perfectly fine to change the path in the TeXstudio options. That's what they are for.
GhostView / GhostScript are two external programs for viewing and converting PostScript. You only need them if you use a TeX -> PS or TeX -> PS -> PDF workflow (i.e. using latex). This is rarely used nowadays and you would know if you have that special requirement. If you don't know about this and only want to create PDF as output pdflatex is most certainly the way to go. Then you can ignore GhostView and GhostScript.
By default, MikTeX doesn't put it's bin folder on the PATH. This means you have to specify the full path to the commands in Òptions -> Commands`. Alternatively, you may put the bin folder on the PATH yourself. Then the command name is sufficient. Note: This is also handy when you want to run some tools from the command line.

You can test, if TXS finds pdflatex by going to Options -> Check LaTeX Installation. At the top of the System Report there should be something like this:

MikTeX Settings -> Roots tab: It is empty by default if the checkbox "Show MiKTeX-maintained root directories" is not checked.
