[Tex/LaTex] how can I insert a footnote with numbers instead of symbols

I do hope you are doing well and everything is all right.

I'm writing a paper for a journal, and it's nearly finished. unfortunately at the latest steps to finish it, I faced a problem which would be when I used

\footnote{text}

LaTeX itself used symbols instead of numbers. I think it's supposed numbers to be used genuinely. Is there any solution to this?

Use the footmisc package, with option symbol.

here is small example:

\usepackage[symbol]{footmisc}

\renewcommand{\thefootnote}{\fnsymbol{footnote}}
\footnote[num]{text}

instead of num you can put the number of the symbol you like:

1   asterisk        *   2   dagger      †   3   double dagger       ‡
4   section symbol  §   5   paragraph   ¶   6   parallel lines      ‖
7   two asterisks   **  8   two daggers ††  9   two double daggers  ‡‡

The footnote symbol code is actually very simple:

\def\@fnsymbol#1{\ensuremath{\ifcase#1\or *\or \dagger\or \ddagger\or
   \mathsection\or \mathparagraph\or \|\or **\or \dagger\dagger
   \or \ddagger\ddagger \else\@ctrerr\fi}}

So, if you were to copy that definition and replace \ddagger by \forall, then the third footnote would get an inverted A.

Do not forget to actually change the footnote counter to fnsymbol:

\renewcommand{\thefootnote}{\fnsymbol{footnote}}
