I recently upgraded my MATLAB version from 6.1 to 6.5. I uninstalled MATLAB 6.1(R12.1) and deleted all the older files before installing version 6.5(R13). I also upgraded my Excel Link version to 2.0. If I try to open Excel, I get an error dialog box which indicates that Excel Link is still referring to the older version of excllink.xla file even though I do not have any folders for MATLAB 6.1(R12.1) on my computer. It appears as if Excel has hard coded the older path to excllink.xla file.
I can by-pass the error message and start Excel. I can setup Excel with Excel Link version 2.0. I can use the Excel Link for that session of Excel. But, if I close Excel and restart it, I get the same error message as before. Excel does not seem to be saving the newer Excel Link settings.
