I have already activated MATLAB. When I activate a different release, will it count as a new activation?

If you have activated your computer with a different release of MATLAB, it will not count as a new activation because your computer is already activated. When you activate for the new release, you are simply pulling down a license file that is updated for the new release of MATLAB.
