MATLAB: VideoWriter Help

Hej. I want to save my animated 4D plot as an avi file. I can do this with videowriter function however it somehow cuts the edges of the graph (labels of axes and terminal values are invisible). Is there a possibility to adjust the captured image? Changing the size of my graph does not help at all

Any help will be really appreciated

You can set the rectangular frame you want to capture.

currFrame = getframe(gca,[-10 -10 400 400]);

The value of cdata in your captured frame (using the default settings) will give you a starting point.

or you can capture the entire window by using the figure handle as input:

F = getframe(figure_handle);

The proper way to add frames to a movie is as described in the documentation, to add frames to the avifile by using the GETFRAME function as shown in the code below:

mov = avifile('pd3.avi');

frame = getframe(gcf);
mov = addframe(mov,frame); 
frame = getframe(gcf);
mov = addframe(mov,frame); 
mov = close(mov);

Note that MATLAB graphics objects must be displayed on screen because the GETFRAME function, which is used to produce frames for the movie structure, performs a screen capture to acquire the necessary image data for the frames.

I figured out the fix:

getframe(gcf,[left bottom width height]),

using the figure position from get(gcf).
