MATLAB: Set multiple attributes in entity generator block

I am trying to build a SimEvents model from code.

I need to create multiple attributes for my entity generator block but for the add_block command I am only able to set one of them.

This is the code for my EntityGenerator creator:

Hi Marco,

The different attribute names and their initial values are delimited by the pipe symbol. For example if you want to add two attributes called 'Path1' and 'Path2' with initial values '0' and '1', you can use the following:

add_block('built-in/entitygenerator',[sys '/eg'],'Position',pos,'TimeSource','MATLAB action', 'IntergenerationTimeAction','dt=exprnd(2);','entitytype','structured','AttributeName','Path1|Path2' , 'AttributeInitialValue' ,'0|1' );

Entity attributes can be modified within the event actions tab of a SimEvents block. However, each SimEvents block is designed to manipulate the flow of entities in some way. There is no block that will allow you to modify an attribute of an entity without an accompanied influence on the flow of those entities. Furthermore, the attributes cannot be modified at exit of a block. The attribute of an entity will need to be modified once it reaches the next block. Although this may be inconvenient, it it will still give the same result as the non-existent option to modify at the source block exit would give.

MATLAB: Assigning Attributes to the entity in simulink

You can use a switch statement to assign values to the ServiceTime attribute depending on the value of the Type attribute.

 entity.Type = randi(3);
 switch(entity.Type)
    case 1
        entity.ServiceTime = 2;
    case 2
        entity.ServiceTime = 4;
    case 3
        entity.ServiceTime = 10;
 end

In the code above, the Type attribute is randomly assigned a value of either 1, 2, or 3. The ServiceTime attribute is assigned a value of

2 when entity.Type==1,
4 when entity.Type==2,
10 when entity.Type==3.

With this approach, each entity generated will be of Type 1, 2, or 3 and have a ServiceTime of 2, 4, or 10, respectively.
