Why does MATLAB crash at startup with the error "Cannot locate com/mathworks/jmi/OpaqueJavaInterface class"
I have reformatted the computer a Dell Optiplex 980 and the error is still the same. I hope you can read the snip I posted

This error was caused by malfunctioning RAM memory. There was no BSD or mention in the event viewer. I removed the memory after diagnostics deemed it bad and Matlab installed just fine.
This issue is related to a recent virus definition update that may corrupt some of MATLAB's internal files. Users of Avast anti-virus are particularly prone to this issue.
Reinstalling MATLAB should resolve the problem, as it will restore the file which Avast has removed. If the issue happens again you may need to make an exception in Avast so it does not quarantine MATLAB installation files.
If this does not resolve the issue, try performing a clean re-installation of MATLAB following the below support article:
How do I perform a clean installation of MATLAB on a Windows system?
Either you have access to the pre-release, in which case you should have received a link to the pre-release notes in the email telling you you can download it, or you don't, in which case we're not allowed to share these with you.
Pre-releases come with an NDA (at least for me), meaning we're not allowed to share the details of what's in them.
