MATLAB: Is it possible to make the fill of area under the curve using area() to be translucent or shaded

area under the curvecolour

I am trying to plot 3 similar curves on top of each other with area(), however as the fill is set to block colours you can olny see the one plotted last/biggest one. Is it possible to make the fill shaded or transluscent so they are all visible at once?

Any help would be great!

Try using fill() instead of area():

x = 1 : 300;
curve1 = log(x);
curve2 = 2*log(x);
plot(x, curve1, 'r', 'LineWidth', 2);
hold on;
plot(x, curve2, 'b', 'LineWidth', 2);
x2 = [x, fliplr(x)];
inBetween = [curve1, fliplr(curve2)];
fill(x2, inBetween, 'g');
