Hi,

Use fopen and fclose to handle these files.

use fopen to get the file id (pay that in case of failure fileID will be -1 )

Premission 'r' to read and 'w' to write.

fileID = fopen(fullfilename,'r')
if(fileID!=-1)
%     do something. use fgetl 
end

Then I usually use fgetl to process every line and status feof to know if the file ended but there are more ways of course.

while ~feof(fileID)
    tline(k) = fgetl(fileID)
end

dont forget to close the file afterwards

fclose(fileID)

After that when you want to write to a file open it with the 'w' permission and use fprintf to write to a file

fprintf(fileID,formatSpec,A1,...,An)

Again, remember to close the file when you're done with fclose

your fgetl(fileID) will get each line of data but you'll have to extract the data from the line. you can use the strfind(line,'=') which will give you your data for each line:

currentline = fgetl(fileID);
equalpos = strfind(currentline,'=');
linesdata = str2num(currentline(equalpos+1:end));

if your reports are consistent you can read in each line and associate the the data to the correct variable. given the specific line you could even use the eval([fgetl(fileID) ';']) such that it'll evaluate the line >>healthy_exposed = 75 ;

 fid = fopen('Code.txt','w');
 fprintf(fid,'start a new cycle \n');
 fprintf(fid,'t = %0.5f\t total_diss %0.5f\n', t, total_diss)
 fclose(fid);

instead. Note that you need to add the fileID fid to the fprintf command.
