MATLAB: I need to split a 256 x 256 matrix into 4 x 4 sub matrix blocks. There will be a total of 4096 blocks. can anyone please help me with this pleaseeeee.

i have tried googling it by I couldnt find a proper solution to this. I need to split my images into 4 x 4 blocks. please help me here,

Read about cellfun(). Try something like this

img = rand(256);
C1 = mat2cell(img, 16*ones(16,1), 16*ones(16,1));
C2 = cellfun(@(x) mat2cell(x, 4*ones(4,1), 4*ones(4,1)), C1, 'UniformOutput', 0);
