MATLAB: How to solve “Undefined function” problem

I am writing a code where i used melcepsta function and it worked fine for the first time. Later I closed Matlab completely and opened it 3 days later to run the same program, but it did not run and it gave me this error.. "Undefined function 'Melcepsta'". Before running the program after 3 days it asked whether to change the path of the .m file or add to the path.. I selected add to the path.. I have attached the .m and .fig file along. Please, any help will be appreciated.

As Matt's comment correctly suggests, you have to add the folder (directory) where the function is located to the MATLAB path. If your function is in c:\mfiles for example, use

 >>addpath 'c:\mfiles'

or use the

 >>pathtool

to add the folder. The type error message is not saying the type is wrong, it's basically saying "you tried to call nmf() on a double input, but I don't know what nmf is".

The commands you listed will not add the 'examples' folder located under 'apps' to the MATLAB path. This is because MATLAB R2016a does not implicitly add the path of the present working directory to the string arguments in "addpath", especially when you're trying to add subfolders. The commands you can use instead are as follows:

addpath(genpath([pwd '/apps/examples']));

addpath([pwd '/lib']);

addpath(genpath([pwd '/robots']));

Please note that in MATLAB R2016b, "addpath" implicitly adds the path of the present working directory. Therefore, the original commands would work in MATLAB R2016b.
