Those files are part of Global Optimization Toolbox and have been since this example was introduced in release R2012b. You will not be able to use these files without installing Global Optimization Toolbox and/or upgrading to release R2012b or later.

ga() is part of the Global Optimization Toolbox, not of the Optimization Toolbox.

It is not possible to install toolboxes from later releases.

That demo was removed from current versions of the product, so is no longer on the web site. To see the files from within your version of MATLAB, enter (make sure you spell the names correctly)
