MATLAB: Does the mouse move differently in the MATLAB 7.0 (R14) and 7.0.1 (R14SP1) Desktop and Editor windows than in the other Windows applications

I have changed the mouse motion properties from the defaults that were set in Windows. However, when I use MATLAB, it does not respect those settings.

There is a bug in MATLAB 7.0 (R14) and 7.0.1 (R14SP1) in the way that certain input device parameters are handled.

To work around this issue, determine if your mouse settings include an option to "Disable Acceleration for Games." If this option exists, select it to disable acceleration.

This is a bug in MATLAB 6.5 (R13) in the way that GUIDE handles setting property values using Property Inspector. Our development staff is investigating this issue.

Currently, to work around this issue, try setting the "UIContextMenu" property of your uicontrol to [] in the "OpeningFcn". For example:

To work around this issue, add the CLC command to your startup.m file, by performing these steps:

1. Execute the following code at the MATLAB command prompt to determine if startup.m exists and open/ add startup.m:

if exist('startup')==2
      edit startup
elseif exist('startup')==0
      a = which('matlabrc');
      parts = fileparts(a);
      edit([parts, '\startup'])
end

2. After the last line of code, add:

clc

3. Save startup.m

4. Close and restart MATLAB

This will clear the Command Window during startup.
