MATLAB: Can’t I use app.UIAxes.CurrentPoint in MATLAB R2018b AppDesigner

I am currently working with MATLAB R2018b and R2020a AppDesigner.

I need to use the property CurrentPoint of the UIAxes, not the UIFigure, to read the current mouse position when the mouse is on a Axes. Then I use the current mouse X position to read the corresponding Y value of a plotted line in the Axes. I use this command app.UIAxes.CurrentPoint.

It works perfectly in r2020a, but there is no property CurrentPoint of Axes in r2018b, although this website UIAxes Properties -> Interactivity -> CurrentPoint is introduced in R2016a.

Is there anyway to work around this problem?

CurrentPoint property for uiaxes was introduced from R2019a. uiaxes was introced in R2016a.

If you want to get the 3D coordinates of the point where the mouse is clicked, you can make use of the CurrentPoint property of the current axes object to get the 3D coordinates of the current location of the mouse as follows:

>> get(gca, 'CurrentPoint')

Obtaining the coordinates from a geotiff image is possible through the axes object properties. The 'CurrentPoint' property contains the axes points of the most recent mouse click on the axes. An example is provided below.

You can run this example by copying the code below into a script and hitting 'Run'.
