MATLAB: C2000 support package offline installation

Hello,

I need to install the support package for c2000. Unfortunatly I dont have Internet access with my computer where the actual maltab license is installed. We have only one matlab license so we cannot use another computer with internetaccess to use the targetinstaller. Can the support package be downloaded without matlab and installed offline?

Hi,

You do need MathWorks products installed to gain access to the C2000 Support Package. But you can "Download To Folder", copy that folder to a thumb drive, and take that thumb drive into your lab, and install from folder on a machine in the lab that may not have an internet connection.

The Texas Instruments C2000 Support Package requires both Code Composer Studio and controlSUITE for C2000 microcontrollers. These third party programs can be downloaded using the following links:

Please download and install these programs before performing the setup process for the Texas Instruments C2000 Support Package. Other Support packages may have similar third party dependencies.

Downloading and installing the Texas Instruments C2000 Support Package on a non-networked computer requires a networked computer that also has the same version of MATLAB. To download and install this support package please use the following instructions:

1) In your networked computer's MATLAB comand prompt please execute the following command:

>> supportPackageInstaller

2) Select "Download from Internet" and then click "Next".

3) Select "Texas Instruments C2000". Specify the desired download folder and then click "Next".

4) Click "Download" to confirm the download.

5) Wait for the download to complete and then click "Finish".

6) Navigate to the download directory and copy the downloaded files to USB drive. Use the USB drive to transfer the files to the non-networked computer.

7) In your non-networked computer's MATLAB comand prompt please execute the following command

>> supportPackageInstaller

8) Select "Install from folder". Specify the folder that contains the Support Package '.zip' file that was moved to the non-networked computer using the USB drive. Click "Next".\n

9) The Support Package Installer should recognize the Support Package. From here on the standard installation process can be used to install the support package.

10) Once the Support Package has been installed it is recommended that you run one of the demos to ensure the installation was successful.

MATLAB: Can I run MATLAB from a USB flash drive

Whether or not you can run MATLAB from a flash drive depends on your license type.

Individual or Designated Computer license

Individual or Designated Computer licenses are locked to the computer they are installed on. Therefore, MATLAB cannot be installed to a flash drive and run on a computer different than the one it was installed on.

Individual licenses with Login Named User (LNU) enabled

On some Individual licenses, you can forego the lock to a specific computer by connecting to the internet on launch. This is called Login Named User, or LNU for short. When using LNU your MathWorks account credentials will be used to verify your license. If you have enabled LNU on your license, you can install MATLAB on a flash drive and run MATLAB on any internet-connected computer.

Concurrent or Network Named User licenses

Concurrent or Network Named User licenses are not locked to the computer they are installed on, and instead communicate with a license server elsewhere on your network when launched to confirm the presence of a MATLAB license. Therefore, with this kind of license MATLAB can be installed on a flash drive and used on any computer which is on the same network as the license manager.
