MATLAB: Am I unable to remove the MathWorks Download Agent from Windows Add/Remove programs list

When I attempt to uninstall the MathWorks download agent from Add/Remove Programs, I receive the error:

MathWorks Download Agent is a small Java application that automates the MATLAB download process. The Download Agent resides entirely within the Java temporary files directory. To remove it, you can clear your Java Temporary Files through the Java Settings option in Windows Control Panel.
