I just installed Lyx 2.1 on my computer for the first time.
I wanted to create my first trial pdf but switching to viewing mode is for some reason not working with the Acrobat Reader DC. I tried many options found on the web but I am afraid my little knowledge is not sufficing to make it work.
I would really appreciate a detailed answer 🙂

I use Adobe Reader 11 (free version) and my settings are as follows. The red rectangles are used to highlight the important parts. If you use version 10, simply change the number 11 to 10.
Note: Since I have added Adobe Reader 11 path to my system variable, I don't need to specify the full path in "Path of executable" section on the dialog box above.
I had to use the package epstopdf and to correctly configure the converter in LyX preferences. Then, reconfigure a bunch of times (it didn't work the first time...) but after doing the usual steps (quit and start the program again and so on) it worked. Thanks to JLDiaz for the answer !

Try replacing the file pdfview.exe on your PC with this one: http://ftp.lyx.de/LyX%202.1.3/pdfview.exe
Usually it is located in the folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX 2.1\bin
