[Tex/LaTex] Spacing between figures and texts

I'm having some issues dealing with figures. It happens that when I have a page with some text and then it comes a figure, with H property, who doesn't fits into the same page as the text, the text itself gets spreaded in that page. here .

Is there a way I can remove theses spaces? What I'd like is that the end of the page would be left blank (even though some people may not think it is the best thing to do). Here is the image with what I would love to have as the output.

Is there any way I can do this?

The \raggedbottom declaration makes all pages the height of the text on that page; No extra vertical space is added. Add that to your document preamble and I believe you'll get the behavior you're looking for.

You didn't provide a minimal example, so it's hard to say what exactly is going on. However, if you simply want "to avoid pages with only one figure", put the two \includegraphics macros inside one figure environment (and add some vertical space with \vspace{floatsep}).

EDIT: Contrary to Mico's assertion, it is possible to create separate cross-references to the graphics inside figure -- see my updated example.

A reason for undesirable space often is caused by white space around the image. Putting the \includegraphics command inside an \fbox can reveal if this is the case, by showing the real bounding box:

\fbox{\includegraphics[<options>]{filename}}

When one discovers this to be the case, there are two strategies:

crop the graphics with some appropriate application, so that it has the correct bounding box;
crop the graphics within TeX by adding options such as viewport or trim (check the documentation of graphicx).

The second strategy requires usually a bit of trial and error.
