[Tex/LaTex] Second page of list of figures: spacing too large

I have a list of figures which spans multiple pages. The first page is looking just fine but when it continues on to the next page, the space between the lines is more than tripled compared to the previous page.

Use \raggedbottom, instead of \flushbottom. The latter will try to stretch the height of the text to get a full page. After the TOC, you can use \flushbottom again.

You have to locally override the behavior of \chapter* that issues \thispagestyle{plain}.

A hack is to say

\cleardoublepage
\begingroup
\makeatletter
\let\ps@plain\ps@empty
\makeatother

\pagestyle{empty}
\listoffigures
\cleardoublepage
\endgroup

at the point where you want the list of figures.

A more abstract way is to define a command in the preamble:

\makeatletter
\newcommand{\emptypage}[1]{%
  \cleardoublepage
  \begingroup
  \let\ps@plain\ps@empty
  \pagestyle{empty}
  #1
  \cleardoublepage}
\makeatletter

and then say, for instance

\emptypage\tableofcontents

\emptypage\listoffigures

Thanks Johannes and Touhmi for your input. Touhami, I tried entering your command, but that didn't seem to work for me. However, I did find a simple solution at Increase space between numbers and text in List of Figures.

Basically, I just used

\usepackage{tocloft}
\setlength{\cftfignumwidth}{2.55em}

at the beginning of the document to adjust the spacing between my figures numbers and titles in the table of figures. This was used in place of

\makeatletter
     \renewcommand*\l@figure{\@dottedtocline{1}{1.5em}{3.2em}}
\makeatother

which, was somehow messing up the desired line spacing in my table of figures.
