[Tex/LaTex] Search through the whole session in TeXstudio

I have many chapters in my work and each chapter has a separate tex file. Now when I want to change something, I switch to each tex file and repeat Ctrl+R in each tex file. This is a little bit annoying and penalizing modularity. Is there a better way? Sort of, a "master search" in TeXstudio?

Open your search using [Ctrl+F] or [Ctrl+R] and then click on the Plus (+) button on the right of the search field opening the advanced search. See the following screenshot:

Here, I have only the main document opened and it can find strings in all files and replacing works, too.

If you are using file names with blanks, the problem is with TeXstudio and TeXmaker, whose command line is something like (supposing your file is C cè.tex)

pdflatex.exe -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode C cè.tex

while the corresponding command line in WinEdt is

pdflatex.exe -synctex=-1 -interaction=errorstopmode "C cè.tex"

so you would have to change TeXstudio command line (in Options -> Configure -> commands) to

pdflatex.exe -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode "%.tex"

[Tex/LaTex] Texstudio and Rnw Files

TeXstudio is mainly focused on LaTeX. Rnw is only supported in the syntax highlighting (because this was quite easy to implement), but it is not explicitly handled in the semantic parsing or the workflow.

You cannot make TeXstudio recognize these commands without modifying the source code, because these things are partly hard-coded into TXS.

Of course, you are welcome to post a feature request at http://sourceforge.net/p/texstudio/feature-requests/. But since we have limited resources, I cannot comment if and when we'll implement this.
