[Tex/LaTex] Problem when compiling, file not found, after update to El Captain

I already see all the questions related to the change of directory path everywhere in the texmaker settings. I follow those steps and I change all the paths with the: /Library/TeX/texbinbut I still have problem when compiling. The error is the following: log file not found if the file is new. Otherwise there is no errors but the Pdf view doesn't appear and the compilation isn't done.

Any idea? What I'm missing?

I solve the problem by changing the path and save it under administration permission.

I was having the same problem: I could compile from the terminal but not from Texmaker. Turns out the solution is fairly simple.

Open up a terminal and run

which pdflatex

On my machine I get the output as

/usr/local/texlive/2017/bin/x86_64-linux/

Then, open the Texmaker configuration Window from the Options menu. In the Commands tab replace whatever is in quotes in the PdfLaTeX textbox with the above path. You should be good to go from here.

[Tex/LaTex] png, jpeg, etc not being found

You were using latex to generate a document (shortcut F2 in Texmaker), and in that case you can only include EPS files. To be able to include JPEG and PNG image you need to use pdflatex (shortcut F6). lualatex and xelatex can also handle JPEG and PNG.
