[Tex/LaTex] n Autocorrect feature in TeXStudio 2.6.2

I was wondering if there's an Autocorrect feature in TexStudio 2.6.2 that works like in MS Word so that if I have to type a certain word many times, the editor writes it for me as soon as I press spacebar after I finish typing the shortcut for that particular word. (Eg. phl –> photolithography)

I've already searched StackExchange for similar questions and read Qrrbrbirlbel's comment
here. I've tried my hand at the Macros but it's not working properly, maybe some bug that needs TeXStudio to re-start for it take action or maybe I simply don't know how to make it work.
Can someone help me, please?

From the Macros menu, go to "Edit Macros...". Add a new entry with the "Add" button then type in the specifics of your Macro. Give it a Name for your own ease of use, write the Trigger command (for eg. phl, short for photolithography), select among Normal/Environment/Script (Normal is ok here), then don't forget the crucial step: LaTeX code. In this case I'd type photolithography. Save and close. Then try out your macro, see if it works by writing a couple of sentences that have the trigger word phl and you'll see the Editor replacing it almost immediately with photolithography.

[Tex/LaTex] Editor with Word like “word completion” feature

In Windows, WinEdt offers this feature. You write few letters of a word and then press Ctrl + Enter. A pop-up window will show you the possible list of words as in the following figure.

Double clicking on the desired word will insert it in the place.

Sublimetext

Sublime text too has this feature. But I found that its word completion is not as thorough as WinEdt. For example it didn't know the completion for the word assume as I did in winedt. But, may be we have to do something extra to have all words, which I never explored. Here you have to press few letters of the word and then press Ctrl + Space to view the options as in the figure. Then click on the desired word to get it in place.

PS. Pressing Tab will insert the first word in the above list i.e, hamburgers.

Texmaker

In texmaker, right click on the half completed word, a pop-up window will open with possible suggestions. Click on the desired word to insert it. Same works in TeXstudio also.

TeXnicCenter

Though I could not get it work (as I am not good in using TeXnicCenter), there is an option for completing words.

gedit

gedit with the "word completion" plugin activated, it shows a dynamic list of possible matches.

[Tex/LaTex] TeXstudio disable character shortcut (Ctrl+Alt+U)

By default Ctrl + Alt + U opens the tool to insert a unicode character. This keyboard shortcut can be switched off by going to

Options -> Configure TeXstudio... -> Shortcuts -> Menus -> Edit

in the English user interface. In the Spanish interface it is

Opciones -> Configure TeXstudio... -> Atajos -> Menús -> Editar.

Just delete/change the shortcut for Insert Unicode Character... in the column that says Current Shortcut or Atajo actual respectively. Hope this solves the problem.
