[Tex/LaTex] LyX: How to put temporary files to the lyx-file folder (for TrueCrypt compatibility)

I am working on a document in a TrueCrypt volume. As far as I understand, when I view PDF, LyX puts a temporary PDF file (and probably all temporary pdflatex files) into some other folder (at least, I don't see them in the folder with the lyx-file). Can I change this? I would like all files, even those later deleted, to reside in a TrueCrypt folder.

I have tried to remove the path in the Preferences/Paths/Temporary directory, but the PDF file still doesn't appear in the lyx-file folder.

Tmp files and memory dumps are written to disk and those files can be recovered using file system analyses tools such as EnCase/Sleuthkit/Graverobber etc.

From within LyX File->Export->as LaTeX. It makes sense to export it into the current directory of the LyX file. Then run the file from the terminal window:

pdflatex <file>
bibtex <file>
pdflatex <file>
pdflatex <file>

This is what LyX does for you if running the LyX doc. That should create the files .pdf and also .bbl

Your setup clashes with the "paranoid" setting of TeX Live (and MiKTeX, also) when it comes to writing files. You see it in the information line

/usr/local/bin/pdflatex: Not writing to ../fbm/Titlepage.aux (openout_any = p)

The distribution is set up so that TeX programs never open for writing files whose path includes going up from the working directory, or an absolute path; if you use \include, then you run into this limitation, as

\include{<path>/filename}

starts writing a filename.aux file in the same directory as filename.tex.

An easy solution is to use \input instead of \include, because reading files has no limitation about paths.

You can also set the output directories, using a command line option for pdflatex, namely --output-dir=./tmp, for example; but this will be used also for the produced PDF file.
