[Tex/LaTex] LaTeX editor with inverse search and on the fly output preview

I have just formatted my HDD and I am trying to build up my system again. I am running both Windows Vista and Ubuntu. I am planning to install MiKTeX 2.9 – TeX Live and I am in search of an editor.

So far I was using TeXniccenter. It isn't bad, but I would like-if possible-to use an editor that will have an inverse search in either Adobe Reader or in Nitro. So far I could use inverse search in TeXniccenter with Sumatra, but it's not a pdf viewer that suits my taste!

I would also like it to have an "on-the-fly" change in a preview output. What I mean is, when I change something in the .tex file, to be changed on-the-fly on a preview output, similar to Texmaker. I've heard that something like that can be done in Geany, but I've never managed to do it on Ubuntu, which would the ideal case, because someone has to use only one editor in either OS.

Do you think that an editor with the two above features exists?
Any suggestions, are more than welcome!

Here is a summary of the required steps (not tested):

Setup inverse search from Okular:

Settings -> Configure Okular .. -> Editor -> Editor dropdown: "custom text editor"

command: kile %f --line %l
Set up Kile to tell LaTeX to add source info, i.e., set LaTeX build tools from Default to Modern:

Settings -> Configure kile -> Build -> LaTeX -> "Modern" in the dropdown menu
Add a new forwardDVI configuration:

Settings -> Configure kile -> Build -> forwardDVI

then:
1. "new..." button on the right
2. choose a name
3. put the full path to the perl script (see below) as the command (don't forget to escape, i.e., put a backslash in front of any spaces)
4. put '%target' as Options (the single quotes are important)

[Tex/LaTex] Texshop and inverse search

I quote from the Release Notes of version 3.18

Version 3.18 has only a single change:

TeXShop contains an obsolete sync method called Search Sync, and a modern replacement by Jerome Laurens called SyncTeX. In recent versions of TeXShop, the obsolete Search Sync from the Preview Window to the Source Window randomly hangs, making TeXShop unresponsive This was supposed to be fixed in version 3.17, but it wasn't. Unfortunately, when the modern SyncTeX cannot find a match, it calls the old Search Sync, so SyncTeX can indirectly hang as well.

It is silly to waste time on an obsolete method, so in TeXShop 3.18, Search Sync from the Preview Window to the Source Window is disabled and does nothing. Most users will notice no change. Users who misconfigured SyncTeX will lose synchronization.

Users should check that

1) in TeXShop Preferences under the Typesetting tab, the "Sync Method" is set to SyncTeX;

2) in TeXShop Preferences under the Engine tab, the two configuration lines for "pdfTeX" each contain the following flags
--file-line-error --synctex=1
3) in TeXShop Preferences on the same page, the two "TeX + dvips + distiller" lines contain the following instruction
--extratexopts "-file-line-error -synctex=1"
The easy way to do this is to push the four "Default" buttons beside these four entries.

(The doc uses --syncTeX=1, but it's wrong, so I edited it in the quotation.)
