[Tex/LaTex] BibLaTeX Incollection: editors are not shown

I'm working on my thesis because I have to hand it in just a few days. As many others I do the bibliography at the last minute.

Using Google a lot, I found various code-snippets, which make the bibliography look like I want it. The only problem is, that there are no editors shown in the incollection entries. They are replaced by a hyphen or something.

The editors are only shown in the Ang (2006) entry. In the other entries they are replaced by the – singn. I don't understand why BibLaTex behaves like that, but I have to turn in my thesis in just a few days. Please … if anyone could help me on that.

You can use the package option dashed=false to get rid of all dashes. If you want to suppress only the dashes for the editors then try in your driver definition

(Don't forget to put \makeatletter before the \DeclareBibliographyDriver).

Btw: You are not using the correct endash in your second entry.

I made an attempt on my own and it seems to work so far.

I took the definition of {maintitle+booktitle} from the file standard.bbx and simply copy and pasted it as \renewbibmacro*{maintitle+booktitle}
I commented out \usebibmacro{booktitle}% from said code bit

I then added

[Tex/LaTex] Biblatex Incollection entry with no author

The proper type in biblatex for a reference work is reference, and for the item in the reference work, inreference. But it would be best to refer to a standard for bibliographic style, such as the Chicago Manual of Style, since this is a matter of convention, not logic.

Chicago recommends citing dictionary entries in the text or footnote only as Dictionary, s.v. "entry", and I think this is the best practice when there is no author credited for the entry (and where the article is as short as this one).

In biblatex, this would be \autocite[s.v. ``Emotional Intelligence'']{Davey2005}. Davey2005 would be the @reference entry for the whole reference work, not just the cited article.

(If you are using Chicago style or do not have a style guide, consider using biblatex-chicago as it will produce results more consistent with usage in humanities writing).
