The Data Acquisition Toolbox is only available on Windows. It is not compatible with OS X or Linux.
When you performed the installation, the Data Acquisition Toolbox was not listed in the list of products to be installed on Mac or Linux. You may have missed it as you clicked through the installer.
MATLAB is available on Windows, Linux, and Macs, but some toolboxes are only available on specific platforms, and are not available on others.
