MATLAB: When installing using the internet, why do I also need the File Installation Key

When installing using the internet with MATLAB R2010a (7.10) or newer, I notice after putting in my email address and password there is also a place to put in a File Installation Key. What should I put there?

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2010b (R2010b). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
On this screen you only need to select one of the options below. If you put in your email address and password, you do not also have to put in a File Installation Key. After entering your email address and password, click on next.
