MATLAB: What’s Simulink model sfundebug.mdl

Hi guys,

I want to debug mex file. I check the help files of matlab. It's said that the first step is to open sfundebug.mdl. I don't know what's sfundebug.mdl and where is sfundebug.mdl.

I would imagine sfundebug.mdl is just an example model. You do not need it to debug a MEX-file.

Dear Mr. Busfield,

As you may already know SLX is a compressed package that conforms to the Open Packaging Conventions (OPC) interoperability standard. SLX stores model information using Unicode® UTF-8 in XML and other international formats. Therefore in Simulink it is easy to export an slx file to an xml file.

What you may can try is to write the following in the MATLAB prompt:

>> save_system('model.mdl', 'model_xml.xml','ExportToXML', true);

A second possibility is that you save the mdl file in Simulink (2014 Version) to a slx file. In principle, if you upgrade an MDL file to SLX file format, the file contains the same information as the MDL file, and you always have a backup file. Now you could compare the xml files.

Thank you for your replies. The answer to Ms. Govind's questions are 1). Yes. All of the blocks are subsystems. 2). Yes. They all have masks and all have parameters.

Also, my slblocks function looks like (I tried both 1 and 0 for Browser.IsFlat and also tried deleting the line completely):

function blkStruct = slblocks
  % Specify that the product should appear in the library browser
  % and be cached in its repository
  Browser.Library = 'DrivetrainLibrary.mdl';
  Browser.Name    = 'Drivetrain Library';
  Browser.IsFlat  = 1;% Is this library "flat" (i.e. no subsystems)?
  blkStruct.Browser = Browser;
