MATLAB: What is the default slew rate of the TouCan ports on the Motorola MPC565 processor when I am using the Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 2.0.5 (R2006b)

I would like to know the default slew rate of the TouCan ports on the Motorola MPC565 processor when I use the Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555.

This bug has been fixed in Release 2007a (R2007a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

This information is missing from the documentation of Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 2.0.5 (R2006b) within the CAN Hardware and Drivers section. Here is additional information on the default slew rate of the TouCan ports :

By default the slow slew rate is selected for the TouCAN modules. This results in a slew rate of 50ns for TouCAN C and 200ns for the other modules. The selection of the slew rate for the TouCAN modules is not available in the Embedded Target for a Motorola MPC555.

The Signal Processing Blockset is configured to use a pre-compiled library that contains the functionality for all blocks in this blockset.

The pre-compiled library is target dependent and for the Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 2.0.5 (R2006b), there is no library shipped with the product.

You can easily create the library once and then use it with different models. Open the model you want to build for MPC555. execute the following commands at MATLAB prompt:

buildSpec.rtwmakecfgDirs = {[matlabroot '\toolbox\dspblks\dspmex']};
rtw_precompile_libs(bdroot,buildSpec);
clear buildSpec

Note: Compiling and linking this library might take a couple of minutes, as there are a lot of functions included in the library.

MATLAB: Is Metrowerks CodeWarrior (CW) version 8.7 supported with Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 2.0.5 (R2006b)

Metrowerks CodeWarrior (CW) version 8.1 is officially supported for the Embedded Target for Motorola MPC555 2.0.5 (R142006b).

However It looks like v8.6 / 8.7 will be for the PowerPC version of CodeWarrior

rather than the MPC5xx version of CodeWarrior

(<http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?nodeId=01272694019314>).

CodeWarrior version 8.7 is not officially supported as it has not been fully tested.
