MATLAB: Vertex Normals – what is their origin point

lightingnormalvertex

Hi guys This may be a noob question but : a vertex normal is a vector described by a single (x,y,z) point in the world-coordinate space, so for it to have direction it must have an 'origin' – question is, for a vertex normal is the origin (a) the vertex it's the normal for, or (b) is it origin (0,0,0)? Thanks Justin

Best Answer

The origin of the vector is the vertex it is the normal for.
