MATLAB: Variable for a matrix

Hi,

I have to find mean from Trans1WW to Trans39WW. So, how can i make a variable so that I can include in a for loop.

St1_WW_avg=mean(Trans1WW);

for k=1:39
   eval(sprintf('St1_WW_avg(%d)=mean(Trans%dWW)',k,k));
end

You shouldn't use all these variables, it's better to used one cell array containing all your variables.Look at

Quantopic verified that the vector variable was of type double. As it was unclear how the SMAvector variables was declared, it was suggested that the following code be tried

 SMAvector = zeros(length(vector),30-5+1);
 for k = 5:1:30
    SMAvector(:,k-5+1) = tsmovavg(vector,'s',k,2);
 end

That depends where your loop is, in script file or function file If it's in Function file, that have nothing to do with a loop , you declare your variable global, If it's in the script file, your variable can't be deleted. look at these examples

for k=1:10
x=sin(k)
end

the result is x=sin(10); the previous x where erased, if you want to save them

for k=1:10
x(k)=sin(k)
end
