MATLAB: Using daq functions on Matlab 64bit R2012a

Is it correct that I can't use analogoutput, analoginput etc with the 64-bit version? is there anything I can do to make MATLAB compatable with these commands, other than reinstall the 32-bit version of MATLAB? I really don't want to go all the way through 2000 of coding completely changing the architecture

Hi,

thats the legacy interface and that doesnt work on 64bit. You have to use the session based interface instead:

Either change your code or install the 32bit MATLAB. There is no other way.

Couple of quick things: When you start AO, you are staring a clocked operation with this particular board based on the sample rate.

AO.SampleRate

should give you the default sample rate (number of samples outputted per sec). The default setting of the object is to run for 1 sec (duration). So when you start an AO object, the object expects samples = the (SampleRate*duration) to be already queued.

So if wish to output zeros to all the channels for the 1 second, you need queue enough data to output.

Something like this:

data = zeros(AO.SampleRate*duration, 1); % duration = 1
putdata(AO,[data data data data]);
start(AO);

Data Acquisition Toolbox is not supported on Mac OS. Refer to the System Requirements. As mentioned in the link, NI instruments are supported on Windows 64 bit and 32 bit versions. Also, Data Acquisition Toolbox supports NI -USB6009. You can find the list of hardware supported by Data Acquisition Toolbox at the following links

In order to use an NI USB6009 device with Data Acquisition Toolbox, you need to install hardware support package 'NI-DAQmx' by clicking Add-Ons->Get Hardware Support Packages in the MATLAB Toolstrip
