MATLAB: Trying to use ‘readtable’ command to read txt, file, but I couldn’t specify the ‘range’ option

Hi, I was trying to use 'readtable' to read a very simple txt file 'abc.txt' as follows

1 2 3 4
5 6 7 8

with this command

T = readtable('abc.txt', 'Delimiter',' ','range','A:B')

but I was always told

 'Invalid parameter name: range.'

Is this because 'range' option only applies to excel file? Thank you.

Yes, Range is for spreadsheet files only.

Douglas, to your first question you would choose linspace if you want the ode solver to return solutions at specific times. If you do not really care about the solution at specific times, simply go with tspin = [value1 value2], where value1 and value2 correspond to a and b.

As far as your second question is concerned I assume you are hinting at partial differential equations, which you would solve with the PDE toolbox.

The better way was use the textscan function with ";" delimiter and after replace the "," by "." before the conversion of string to number.

fclose(fileID);
