MATLAB: Square gridlines in the figure

Hi guys,

I have prepared a plot and ı am using grid on function in the script but when ı run the program plot's lines looks rectangular. Hence, cirle looks eliptic I don't want that,

How can ı adjust rectangular gridlines to square gridlines when ı run the program ?

Ugur - it could be that your axes do not have the same data unit lengths. Try using

axis equal

to ensure the same spacing on each axis. See Set axis limits and aspect ratios for details.

Hi,

two possibilities:

You remove the ticks: set(gca, 'ytick', []), but this way you would also see no grid lines.
Remove the labels: set(gca, 'yticklabel', [])

Nevermind, I managed to do it somehow. If anyone would be in need of something similar, here's my code:

pcolor(x,y,Z);shading interp; colormap jet;axis square off
h_ax = gca;
h_ax_line = axes('position', get(h_ax, 'position'));
plot(X,Y,'g--');
set(h_ax_line, 'YAxisLocation', 'right', 'xlim', get(h_ax, 'xlim'),'ylim', get(h_ax, 'ylim'), 'color', 'none'); 
axis square off
