MATLAB: Simulink Subsystem Block Shading

I want to put my Simulink model in a report (as a diagram). First question, is there a better way than just print screening? Maybe Simulink allows you to export your model as pdf?

I noticed that the 'Subsystem' block has some shading by default (it's darker near the bottom of the block). How can I turn this feature off? I just want a plain white block with a black border. For example, look at the 'Add' block, or most other blocks.

My first question can be simply answered by using the 'Print' function:

This also solves the problem with the shading. Jeej

The fill command can do this. It requires some careful control of the ordering of the points and the ordering of the lines (hence the fliplr in the example below) ...

You can make it transparent with

set(h, 'FaceAlpha', 0.5)
