MATLAB: Simulink mask display programmatically, how to make line shift

I use this command to set up mask display programmatically:

set_param( gcbh,'MaskDisplay', ['port_label(''input'', 1, ''in1''); port_label(''output'', 1, ''out1'');'] );

In the mask editor it afterwards appears in one line as:

port_label('input', 1, 'in1'); port_label('output', 1, 'out1');

which is a bit annoying when the block has many ports.

How can I make it appear in multiple lines, like:

port_label('input', 1, 'in1')

port_label('output', 1, 'out1')

use char(10),

set_param( gcbh,'MaskDisplay', ['port_label(''input'', 1, ''in1'');',char(10),'port_label(''output'', 1, ''out1'');'] );

Select Opaque with ports on the Icon transparency drop down in the Mask Editor on the Icon & Ports Tab.

This will take the names of the input port and outports under a mask and make them the names of the ports on the mask.

You can just execute what you're passing in as the third parameter to set_param to make sure that it's a string (and not a cell-array). I get the same error in MATLAB when I say:

Just from a cursory glance, the problem is that you are not escaping the quotes in the string. So you need:

   set_param('sys/blockname', 'MaskDisplay', 'disp(''{\bf\it\fontsize{20}\fontname{Calisto MT}MODEL}'', ''texmode'',''on''); port_label(''output'', 1, ''qpp''); port_label(''output'', 2, ''qp''); port_label(''output'', 3, ''q''); port_label(''input'', 1, ''u'')')
