MATLAB: Select largest bounding box

I used this code to detect people

peopleDetector = vision.PeopleDetector;
[bboxes,scores] = step(peopleDetector,I);
I = insertObjectAnnotation(I,'rectangle',bboxes,scores);

For some cases it gives multiple bounding boxes for one person.

I want to select largest bounding box having highest score. How can I do this. Please help.

Hello nataliya,

Find the area of all the bounding box. Take out the bounding box having maximum area.

stats is a structure array. Each element is a structure and has it's own bounding box. So stats(1).BoundingBox is the bounding box (x,y,width,height) of the first blob. And stats(2).BoundingBox is the bounding box (x,y,width,height) of the second blob, and so on. To display them all:

hold on;
for k = 1 : length(stats) % Loop through all blobs.
  % Find the bounding box of each blob.
  thisBlobsBoundingBox = stats(k).BoundingBox;  
  rectangle('Position', thisBlobsBoundingBox);
end

Near the top, do this:

Ibw1 = bwareafilt(Ibw1, 1); % Extract largest blob only.

Then continue with the rest of your code, though I don't believe the median filter is needed.
