MATLAB: Do I receive an “Install Error” when installing a support package in MATLAB R2016b

When installing a support package in MATLAB R2016b, I receive the following error:
Install Error
There was a problem installing the third-party software. To resolve this issue, contact Technical Support.

Starting in MATLAB R2016b, support packages are now installed through the Support Software Installer (SSI), which resides in Add-Ons Explorer. As a result, in order to use Add-Ons Explorer, MATLAB must be configured to use your company's network proxy settings. To configure the proxy settings for MATLAB, reference this article:
